Foundations of Self Care

Trauma Informed Community

Foundations of Self Care

Foundations of self care Is one of our core trainings. We unpack selfcare as a popular term.  We ask can you separate individual care from the collective care?  Our training will introduce you to polyvagal theory and reflect on how we can practice self care so that it becomes an integrated habit?

Included in this training are the 11 Foundations of Self Care and a variety of related practices for you to  explore what works for you.

We cover the essential elements of self care that create a shift of state and ongoing life skills to build resilience and work life balance.

Foundations of self care can be adapted to a school PD day, workplace workshop, course units, or a day retreat.

The Foundations of Self Care is part of our Caring Communities program. More information can be found on our Caring Community Page on our mother website.

Caring Community

Trauma Informed Community

Foundations of Self Care

Caring Community invites us to explore how all of us are inter-connected & dependant. Together we  reflect on how we exist in a network of relationship a 'MWe'

(Daniel Siegel) . All of us at some point in our lives depend on being held and cared for. This may be because we an infant, new parent, experiencing a crisis of some kind, illness or elderly. At times in life we may lose hope and need others to  hold us in some way until we can recreate meaning and ground in our lives.  Hence we are all cared for at some point and in turn care.

In this training we look at the life skills that support healthy caring communities. We reflect on how caring is a vital life skill that binds community, defines our humanity,  is essentially relevant to everyone and how possibly our overall survival as a species is dependant on our ability to care compassionately. We draw from mindfulness, compassion, empathy, neuroscience research and lay a roadmap for practice and social integration. This training can be adapted the needs of  different organisations, workplaces & community groups.

Trauma Informed Community

Trauma Informed Community

Optimising Stress in the Workplace

In our Trauma Informed Community (TIC) workshop we explore what does it mean to be Trauma informed and how to move toward being more trauma responsive and compassionate?  How is trauma relevant to workplaces, organisations and schools and how can we benefit from implementing Trauma Informed Principles and ways of organising?

We cover prevalence and pervasive impact on individuals and communities. How trauma is held in networks of relationships and its impact passed on historically and held geographically as a 'trauma contagion'.  We ask how can we collaborate and work together to create resilient communities? Is there a road map and what are the working principles to put in place?

More information about TIC can be found in Trauma Informed Communities our sister website.

Optimising Stress in the Workplace

Optimising Stress in the Workplace

Optimising Stress in the Workplace looks at stress as a resource  that can be harnessed to motivate and increase productivity. This entails a process of befriending stress and understanding how the human nervous system works within individuals and between in our ways of relating. We introduce practices that can be integrated into the workplace environment.

Optimising Stress in the Workplace

The Mindful Workplace

What does it mean to be resilient? On an individual level we may say it is our ability to bounce back after overwhelm or adversity. In this workshop we explore what does it mean to be a resilient workplace, community or organisation? What resources do we have to utilise and how do we strengthen our capacity to bounce back? Together we create a tool kit of practices and resources that can be integrated into our day to day lives.
